Our Christmas weekend was a resounding celebration of the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, uniting our CCMC family in worship and fellowship. This was rooted in a simple message: Jesus is the most wondrous gift we will ever receive.
Our Christmas weekend services kicked off with a sermon by Lay Ministry Staff Mr Joseph Lim, who told the story of Joseph and Mary making their way with the unborn Jesus to Bethlehem.
The service concluded with three key points:
Our lives are in the hands of God.
We are called to humility.
Christmas is ultimately, in our heart through our relationship with Jesus.
On Christmas Day, Pastor-in-Charge Rev David Gwee led a unique, interactive service that seamlessly blended spoken narratives with the melodious voices of the CCMC Gospel Choir.
Classic carols were intertwined with Rev Gwee's insightful reflections, creating an engaging atmosphere where the congregation actively participated in the celebration.
A highlight of the service was a special segment featuring Rev Gwee, Ps Rufus Chan and Mr Joseph Lim harmoniously singing ‘We Three Kings’.
This brought about cheers of support and excitement from the audience, as it was the first time we heard our pastors sharing the stage in song!
Throughout the service, everyone was engaged as we were involved in reading and singing along. It was an interactive way to learn about the true meaning of Christmas, namely:
Jesus is the most wondrous gift we can receive, given by God’s love for us.
No past, present, or future action can alter God's unwavering love for you.
Accepting this excellent gift is all that is required of us!
After the services, we had a warm time of fellowship with one another, bringing the cheer of Christmas beyond our halls.
Smiles, laughter, and the uplifting spirit of connection abounded as people got to know and caught up with each other. All of this, made possible in Christ.
The Light has truly come!
